Information You Enter Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Aurora Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the search terms on its own servers. If you contact the site, the contact mailbox receives the information in your message and uses it to respond to that request.
Search forms on this site are separate from official Aurora, Arapahoe, Adams, Douglas, Colorado Judicial, election, assessor, recorder, library, and museum systems. A request sent to one of those offices is governed by that custodian's process and privacy notice.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting systems may record routine technical data such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. The site uses that information in aggregate to troubleshoot the service and understand which Aurora directory pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
Those logs are not a county parcel file or a resident roll. They do not give this site access to a government custodian's private database.
How Site Data Is Used
Technical and contact data may be used to operate the site, answer a message, fix faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. Aurora Residents Directory does not sell visitor lists or build a profile of an individual reader from the public-record topics they view.
Links to Outside Records Sites
The pages link to outside portals such as the Aurora Property Information map, the Arapahoe official-records search, Colorado voter lookup, the Aurora Public Library research gateway, the Aurora History Museum, and Library of Congress or archive collections. Each outside operator controls its own forms, logs, retention, and privacy practices.
The same rule applies to sponsored search results. Review the provider's terms before entering information there. A link from this site does not make the outside service a government office or an agent of Aurora Residents Directory.
Who May Receive Site Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process ordinary server logs so the pages can load and remain secure. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. A contact message may be shared with a service provider when needed to answer it. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it.
The site does not disclose a reader's message or log data for unrelated commercial use. Public information held by a Colorado custodian remains under that custodian's rules, not under this site's control.
Steps Used to Protect Data
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no reader accounts, passwords, or user profiles on this site to expose in an account breach.
No security measure is perfect. Do not place a Social Security number, full driver's-license number, signature, or other sensitive identity material in a contact message unless an official custodian specifically requires it through its own verified process.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to the contact mailbox, use the Contact page so the message can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Colorado Privacy and Other Rights
The Colorado Privacy Act, C.R.S. §§6-1-1301 et seq., describes rights that can include access or confirmation, correction, deletion, data portability, and opting out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. The Colorado Attorney General also recognizes Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a universal opt-out signal. Because this site keeps little personal data, a request will generally involve checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs and removing data that is within the site's control. Use the Contact page for that request.
Colorado public-record laws operate separately. CORA, C.R.S. §24-72-102 et seq., and the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §24-72-301 et seq., govern access, redaction, and requests handled by the relevant city or county custodian. Information made publicly available by a government office is not erased from the originating parcel, deed, court, voter, or assessor system by a request to this site. Send a correction or confidentiality question to that custodian.
Vital statistics are confidential under C.R.S. §25-2-117 and certified copies require the statutory direct-and-tangible-interest and identity rules. The federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. §§2721-2725, limits personal information from motor-vehicle records. Colorado's Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) can provide a legal substitute address and confidential mail forwarding for eligible participants. Those protections belong to the originating agency and are not overridden by this reference.
Changes to This Policy
If the site's data practices change, a revised policy will be posted here. Continued use after a revision is published indicates acceptance of the updated wording. The effective record-access rules of Aurora, Colorado, Adams County, Arapahoe County, Douglas County, and state agencies should still be checked with the relevant custodian.
